Do you ogle at and envy your neighbor’s lush green Lawn Sprinkler ? You know, the old “grass is greener on the other side” thing?
Maybe they’re doing a bunch of things differently than you are. If so, thoroughly hydrating their Lawn is most likely one of them.
So, now you’ve had it. You want a super green lawn, too, and have decided a new and better sprinkler is part of the solution. Just remember that all sprinklers are not created equal.
To ensure that a sprinkler meets your lawn care needs, consider the size and style of the lawn, climate, and amount of water you want to conserve. Here are 6 categories most sprinklers fall into.
Fixed or Stationary –
These sprinklers connect to your hose and spray water in the same pattern over the same area until moved – typically a radius of 5 – 15 feet at a time. Stationary sprinklers are generally best for smaller yards and gardens.
Oscillating – Using a row of multiple openings to disperse water in a semicircular spray, oscillating sprinklers cover a larger area of land than most fixed models. Much like a fan, the sprinkler head moves from side to side, as does the resulting spray of water.
Rotating and Impact – Both types spin 360 degrees as they release water. Rotating sprinklers typically have two or more spinning arms while impact sprinklers spray water from a single jet, clicking as they turn a full rotation. Impact sprinklers deliver the largest range of water.
Sprinkler Hoses – These rubber hoses are lined with perforations along the top, allowing a slow, controlled spray of water. They are ideal for long, narrow and irregularly curved patches of grass or garden beds.
Traveling Sprinklers – These roll through the yard pulling a garden hose in a pre-programmed pattern, watering the area as they move along.
In-Ground Sprinkler System – Want to take the guesswork out of watering your yard? This might just be the solution. In-ground systems operate on a set schedule which allows precise control of a lawn’s watering needs without lifting a finger (or a garden hose).
For all options above, you need an outdoor faucet to supply the water. But if you’re like most area homeowners, you have only one, thus requiring multiple hoses connected to reach your entire lawn and garden areas. The solution is simple: contact Norhio Plumbing today to have one more additional outdoor faucet installed. We offer several varieties, too, including hot-and-cold plus non-freezing.
